Working With a Private Clinic
Bionis is a private orthotics and prosthetics clinic in Ahmedabad that serves patients across Gujarat. Unlike our charity study, this collaboration focused on understanding how a private clinic operates day-to-day and where Akrolimb technology can add the most value.
By embedding ourselves in their workflow, we learned how clinicians assess patients, manage orders, communicate with manufacturers, and handle the back-and-forth that slows down traditional O&P delivery.
Understanding Clinic Needs
Private clinics face a unique set of pressures: they need fast turnaround to keep patients satisfied, cost-effective solutions to remain competitive, and consistent quality across every device they deliver.
Through our work with Bionis, we identified the key bottlenecks in traditional clinic workflows — outsourced design iterations, long manufacturing lead times, and limited control over the final product quality.
These insights directly shaped our platform. Every feature in Akrolimb software was designed to address a real problem that clinicians at Bionis told us they face daily.

The clinic workflow challenges we observed at Bionis became the foundation for our software roadmap. Features like guided design tools, integrated scan-to-print pipelines, and order management were built to solve real problems we saw firsthand.
Our goal is to give clinics like Bionis the ability to design and manufacture devices in-house — reducing their dependency on external suppliers and giving them full control over quality, cost, and turnaround time.
